Ecumenical Mission Statement

The purpose of this church is to help people:

	discover a living faith in Christ
	grow as disciples of Jesus
	become equipped for service

In the light of the prayer of Christ 'may they all be one . . . . that the world may believe that you sent me'

(John 17: 21) and the injunction to 'spare no effort to make fast with bonds of peace the unity which the Spirit gives' (Ephesians 4: 3), Daventry United Reformed church and Daventry Baptist congregations commit themselves to the expression of visible unity of Christ's Church:

in prayer together and for each other

to continue to worship together

to provide ministry for ourselves and each other

to be disciples and to disciple others

to be good stewards of all we have inherited

to make part of our mission the care of those in need, particularly the financially stressed and the bereaved

to be fully responsive to our call to be engaged in the mission, both in our neighbourhood and in the wider world, as far as the disciplines of our churches allow
